Our 36 bed rehabilitation program is staffed by a total of 38 registered nurses and 16 patient care assistants. This dedicated and experienced staff boasts an average tenure within the department of eleven years. Additionally, our clinical staff continues to expand their knowledge, with: 

  • 13% of nurses holding a Masters of Science in Nursing degree
  • 63% of nurses holding a Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree
  • 21% of nurses are Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurses
  • 8% of nurses are Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurses
  • 21% are members of the ARN

And, with more than 50 team members, you can be assured that care will be readily available when you need it.  

Our Therapists  

To provide patients with the most comprehensive rehabilitation experience, our team of specialists include:  

  • Occupational therapists

  • Certified occupational therapy assistants

  • Physical therapists

  • Physical therapist assistants

  • Speech/language pathologists

  • Certified therapeutic recreation specialist  

Combined, the average experience of our therapy staff is more than 9 years. All of our staff members participate in multiple areas of continuing education, internal and external, to further their knowledge of treatment planning and advanced care for our rehabilitation patients. This includes several occupational therapists who have attained Masters degrees in occupational therapy, as well as physical therapists who have attained either Masters or Doctorate degrees.  

Our Physicians

The Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation program at The Christ Hospital is led by Lois M. Deaton, MD. Dr. Deaton is a physiatrist with more than 15 years of clinical experience. Working with Dr. Deaton is a team of rehabilitation physicians, all of whom specialize in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. This expertise makes them uniquely qualified to guide and direct care for patients with often complex medical and rehabilitation needs and specific functional goals.
