Phase II cardiac rehabilitation

What is cardiac rehabilitation phase II?

Cardiac rehabilitation phase II is a medically-monitored exercise program specially designed for those who have had recent heart issues or procedures. Phase II of cardiac rehabilitation meets three times a week for approximately twelve weeks. During the program, you will be educated on lifestyle modification to help lower the risk of another heart problem. You will also have the opportunity to participate in a telemetry exercise program (Your heart rate will be measured as you exercise). The program is monitored at all times by registered nurses and exercise physiologists. A physician referral is required. Most insurance programs reimburse for the program; however, a co-payment may apply.

Why is cardiac rehabilitation important?

As a result of cardiac rehabilitation, patients will see an increase in their energy level, quality of life, self esteem and confidence.

In addition, cardiac rehabilitation helps provide reassurance for what you are able to do safely as well as helping you with ways to lower your risk of reoccurrence of heart problems, It can also helps patients cope with stress management, depression, as well as chronic disease management
