4-West, the inpatient oncology unit at The Christ Hospital is a 30-bed unit. Our multidisciplinary team provides specialized care for persons with cancer, and includes our oncology physicians, nurses, patient care assistants, case managers, pharmacists, social worker, dietitian and chaplain. Our unit encourages Family Centered Care and supports a holistic approach with our chapel and activity center. The 4-West staff provides individualized care for persons with cancer, including:
- providing cancer treatment with chemotherapy and biotherapy drugs
- managing side effects of the disease or treatment
- providing patient and family teaching, and
- providing emotional and spiritual support of patients, families and significant others.
If you or your loved one needs specialized care on an inpatient oncology unit, our 4-West staff is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to provide this care. Our services are coordinated with outpatient services in The Christ Hospital Cancer Center.
