of Services
Comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation services are provided to adult and geriatric patients with neurological and other medical conditions of recent onset or regression and who have experienced a loss of function in activities of daily living, mobility, cognition or communication. This program serves persons 18 years and older and accepts persons served of varying cultural backgrounds. All patients are medically stable but have sufficient medical acuity to warrant an ongoing hospital stay. This program does not currently serve patients who are ventilator-dependent, comatose, or have complete quadriplegia or burn management needs.
Patients will receive a standard program of a minimum of three hours of physical, occupational and/or speech therapy services Monday through Friday or a revised therapy schedule based on the individual patients’ needs and/or tolerance. Additional therapy sessions will be provided on the weekends as indicated. These programs will be aligned with the patients’ requirements for therapy based on regulatory and payer source guidelines.
Many factors will influence the length of stay, including severity of injury, previous health status and medical complications.
The Christ Hospital Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit admissions team will serve as a resource suggesting alternative placement when referred patients do not qualify for our program.
The Rehabilitation team will work with the patient and their family to help determine the best environment based on individual needs at the time of discharge.
