The Role of the CME Committee
The Christ Hospital Health
Network has appointed the CME Committee along with assistance from
Medical Staff Services to oversee the CME Program.
Responsibilities of the CME Committee include:
- Identify and assess the educational needs of the members of the Medical
Staff and other health professionals in surrounding communities
- Facilitate professional development in the wide range of competencies
needed to practice quality medicine in the multidisciplinary context of
patient care
- Ensure the continuing medical education program's
compliance with the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical
Education's (ACCME) Essential Areas and their Elements and the Ohio
State Medical Association's (OSMA) accreditation requirements.
- Monitor the CME activity planning and implementation processes, ensuring activities comply with all ACCME and OSMA guidelines
- Assess the effectiveness of CME actvities to satisfy the needs of the
Medical Staff and improve actual performance and patient outcomes
- Develop strategies to improve the hospital's overall CME program
