The oncology nurse residency program is offered all year long.
This program, offered at The Christ Hospital, is designed to prepare graduate RNs to function confidently and efficiently in oncology settings. We provide an opportunity to practice clinical skills, care for several diverse patient populations, and gain an appreciation for the special interaction between oncology patients and their families within this program. A few specific content topics of this program include pharmacology, chemotherapy and biotherapy administration, side effects and complication management, patient and family education and end-of-life care.
- RNs must have less than six months of oncology nursing experience. New graduates are encouraged to apply.
- GPA of 3.0 is preferred (A or B in nursing core classes).
- Anyone with less than one year of Oncology experience will be required to go through the residency.
