Joint Replacement

As Cincinnati’s volume leader in joint replacement surgery, doing more procedures than any other hospital in the region, our world-class orthopaedics team has an established track record of excellent joint replacement outcomes. In fact, our specialists are pioneers in one very important aspect of care – making joint replacement surgery easier for patients. Through the use of specialized nerve blocks, our joint replacement patients receive pain control and numbing medicine at the site of the surgery. So, instead of masking the pain after joint replacement with narcotic pain killers, we’re blocking pain at the source, allowing patients to feel dramatically better postoperatively and getting them back on their feet and on the road to recovery sooner.

Neurosurgery and Neurologic Spine Care

Our neurosurgeons specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the central and peripheral nervous system, infections of the brain or spine, stroke, tumors, vascular disorders, or degenerative diseases. Our neurosurgeons have received advanced fellowship training as well as board certification in neurosurgery. They will diagnose your injury or condition, help determine the best course of treatment, including medication, non-operative treatment as well as surgery, direct rehabilitation of your condition by recommending exercise or physical therapy and look for opportunities to prevent future injury or slow the progression of disease.

Spine Care

Our orthopaedic surgeons and neurosurgeons specializing in the treatment of spine conditions are board-certified in either orthopaedic surgery or neurosurgery and have received extensive fellowship training in the diagnosis and treatment of spine conditions. For most spine conditions and injuries, more than one treatment option is often available. Our specialists guide patients through the  treatment process, developing a treatment plan focusing on conservative, non-surgical treatment whenever possible, including medication, exercise, injections or other non-operative treatments. In the event surgery is necessary, our physicians focus on minimally-invasive techniques and use the latest technologies to provide the best possible outcome.

Pain Management

Pain is the most common symptom associated with joint or spine conditions. And, for many, the impact of pain on daily life is dramatic, limiting the ability to perform basic functions, work and participate in activities with loved ones.

At The Joint &Spine Center, we have developed a comprehensive pain management program offering advanced, targeted and minimally invasive procedures to reduce or remove your pain. Procedures include:

  • Injections
  • Pain Blocks
  • Advanced interventional procedures

Physical and Occupational Therapy

Physical and occupational therapy are critical components to ensuring patients achieve the best possible results. Whether that means therapy after surgery or therapy to prevent surgery, the Joint and Spine Center offers both inpatient and outpatient physical and occupational therapy services. Our specialists work closely with you, your physician and, in some cases, even your family to help develop a care plan this is customized to meet your needs and recovery goals.
