Advanced Practice Registered Nurse - Adams County

Shift: Full-Time, Days

This position will be part of the Heart and Vascular Service line at The Christ Hospital Health Network (TCHHN) located at 230 Medical Center Seaman, OH 45679.

Job Overview: The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) may be an APRN that has been prepared with the appropriate graduate level education and authorized to practice and prescribe as such. May provide general medical and/or surgical care and treatment to patients in a medical setting (office, telemedicine, hospital, Urgent Care, LTC, or Clinic) in collaboration with physician(s) for APRNs where dictated. If the APP will be practicing in the hospital setting, the delineation of privileges will also dictate the scope of practice.

Education: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse: Graduate from accredited Certified Nurse Practitioner or Certified Nurse Specialist program with a Master's Degree.

License & Certification: Certified Nurse Practitioner: Acute, Adult, Adult-Gero or Family Nurse Practitioner Certification, or Certified Nurse Specialist certification verified by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN), American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Current, valid license (registration) by the Ohio Board of Nursing or applicable state board.

Physician Assistant: Graduate from accredited physician assistant program with a Master's Degree Physician Assistant Certification (verified by the National Commission or the Certification of Physician Assistant – NCCPA. Current, valid license (registration) by the state Medical Board of Ohio or applicable state medical board. Current Certificate to prescribe by the State Medical Board of Ohio.

Experience: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse: 3 years minimum experience as a Registered Nurse preferred. At least one-year experience as an APRN preferred.

Physician Assistant: 2 years minimum of experience preferred

Advanced Practice Registered Nurse - CVICU

Shift:  Full-Time, Days

This position will be located in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) at The Christ Hospital Health Network (TCHHN) main campus, 2139 Auburn Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45219.

Unit Description:  The Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) is a 16-bed cardiovascular recovery and intensive care unit. The all-RN staff is highly proficient in the pre-operative, intra-operative support, and immediate post-operative phases of care in patients with various cardiovascular procedures including but not limited to open heart, Ventricular Assist Devices and Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement.  The staff also cares for acute cardiology patients and post cardiology procedures. RNs demonstrate expertise with all types of invasive lines, medications, hemodynamic parameters, intra aortic balloon pumps, and other ventricular assists devices. RNs are also highly proficient in the care of various types of surgical and medical intensive care patients. RNs are required to be ACLS certified, and CCRN and CSC certifications are highly encouraged. The leadership team of the CVICU consists of the clinical manager, program manager, and clinical educator. Our support team consists of health unit coordinators. The CVICU is a fast-paced unit utilizing state-of-the-art technology, nationally recognized standards of care, acute critical thinking skills and autonomy. The CVICU RNs embrace autonomy and deliver highly skilled blended intensive nursing care with care and compassion.

Advanced Practice RN – Palliative Care – PRN

Shift: PRN, Week Days, no call

Location: The Christ Hospital Health Network (TCHHN) main campus, 2139 Auburn Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45219

Service Description: The Christ Hospital Palliative Care Service provides interdisciplinary care to seriously ill patients and their families throughout the hospital. The goal of palliative care is the relief of physical, emotional, and spiritual suffering associated with serious illnesses. TCHHN Palliative Care has physicians, APRNs, RN, social workers, chaplains, and pharmacist who work closely together as a highly functioning team to provide comprehensive care including expert pain and symptom management, facilitation of family meetings and goals of care discussions, advance care planning, and care coordination. TCHHN Palliative Care was the first program in the Tri-State area to achieve advanced certification in palliative care from the Joint Commission.

Job Overview: The Palliative Care APRN PRN will work as a member of the inpatient palliative care team, providing initial consultations and follow up visits with a focus on pain and symptom management, clarification of goals of care, and advance care planning. This role will serve to cover other palliative care APRNs on PTO and during times of high patient census.

Education: Graduate from accredited Certified Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist program with a Master's Degree or higher

License & Certification: Certified Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist (acute, adult, adult-gero, or family certification, current valid license (registration) by the Ohio Board of Nursing as an APRN by the Ohio Board of Nursing, DEA license, BLS certified, Standard Care Arrangement with collaborating physician for Ohio, membership in professional organizations are desirable

Experience: 3 years minimum experience as an acute care registered nurse preferred, 1 year experience as an APRN preferred, clinical experience in palliative care is ideal but experience in hospice, oncology, heart failure, or ICU helpful

Primary Care Float

Shift: Day Shift

Location: TCMHA Float (Compton Rd for Nov 1 - Jan 1, Anderson IM Jan 1 - March 1)

Service Description: Primary Care

Job Overview: This position will initially be to cover practices who currently have a shortage.  By the end of the time at Anderson, the hope would be a permanent position could be considered for the APP at either of these locations or another location.  The APP could also continue to cover other offices in our Primary Care network including Urgent Care.

Education: Master's degree or higher

License & Certification: NP or PA license in OH. Board Certification required

Experience: must have at least 1 year experience as an APP
