Can the Air Fryer Really Help with Guilt-Free Snacking?

I'm a huge fan of anything that makes healthy food more appealing, and the air fryer has done that for me. Please let me say: I'm not trying to sell you an air fryer! I just know how difficult it can be to get more veggies in your daily diet, and I love sharing any tricks I learn along the way in my own journey to achieve a healthier lifestyle.

I tend to be a nighttime snacker. Even though I've just eaten dinner, I get strong urges to snack. This is where my air fryer comes in handy. My nighttime go-to is to get a frozen bag of veggies, spray with a little PAM, toss on some seasonings of choice, and pop in the air fryer for 15 minute at 400 degrees. BAM! Veggie snacks! For me, it satiates that snacking urge without any guilt. Plus, I add more veggies into my day – and there's nothing wrong with that!

I also use my air fryer for my weekly meal prep. Almost every week I buy chicken breasts, cut them up with scissors, toss in seasonings of choice, and throw them in the air fryer for 15 minutes on 400 degrees (this is my go-to time & temp.). Then I have little chicken nuggets for my meals.

In this video you'll see some examples of that. Salmon is fantastic in the air fryer! And the zucchini fries are awesome!

Chop zucchini into "fries" - coat in an egg or egg whites, then roll in parmesan cheese. Pop in the air fryer for 9 minutes or so on 400 degrees. Tasty, cheesy veggies that are perfect for a meal or snack.

Another one of my air fryer-favorites is Brussels sprouts. I have found that they're much better with a little bit of oil. I usually have a small bag, toss in one teaspoon of olive oil & seasoning. Perfect for a snack or a great compliment to any meal. Dare I say, perfect for Thanksgiving. 

I've even seen people make hard boiled eggs and bake little cakes in the air fryer, but I haven't been brave enough to try that yet. I want to give a shoutout to someone who just kills it at making delicious, healthy, air fryer meals: my girl, Jill. She made me protein powder cake balls in her air fryer once and they were amazing!

Eating healthy doesn't have to be difficult or boring. The possibilities are endless. I think once we get past the idea that a healthy diet just consists of bland baked chicken and broccoli, it becomes more of a lifestyle we enjoy rather than a diet that's a chore. I hope this gives you some "heathspiration" to try something different. Maybe veggies are your thing afterall. Happy eating!
