Healthspirations staff sat down with Valerie Allen, MD, from The Christ Hospital Physicians - Obstetrics & Gynecology, for the 29th episode of our FilMD doc-umentary series, to talk about why she loves caring for women, what it's like to work with her father-in-law, her favorite Cincinnati places to go, and more.
Dr. Allen, originally from Sylvania, Ohio, also told us about her passion for helping women reach their goals throughout all stages of life, her love of sweets, being committed to working hard and more.
About Dr. Allen
Valerie Allen, MD, earned her bachelor's degree in human nutrition from The Ohio State University, where she graduated magna cum laude. She earned her medical degree from the University of Cincinnati, where she also completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology. Dr. Allen is the recipient of numerous honors and awards, most recently, the V. Bradley Roberts Memorial award from The Christ Hospital Obstetrics & Gynecology Department for outstanding ability in operative gynecology, and she was also named Special Resident in Minimally Invasive Gynecology from The American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists. Dr. Allen is a member of the American Medical Association and the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is committed to staying up to date on newest research and practicing evidence-based medicine. In her free time, she enjoys teaching, exercising, traveling, spending time outdoors and especially sharing time with her husband and son.
