MEDIA ALERT: The Christ Hospital Hosting ‘Women in Medicine’ Event for Local High School Girls

Event Encourages Girls to Seek Careers in Medicine

Cincinnati (Jan. 25, 2017) – The Christ Hospital’s Women in Medicine group, a network of The Christ Hospital Health Network’s female physicians, is hosting its annual community outreach program this Saturday, January 28 at The Christ Hospital Joint & Spine Center from 7:30 a.m. to noon. The program is designed to educate high school girls from around the region about the medical field and encourage them to seek career paths in medicine, supporting The Christ Hospital’s mission of improving the health of our community and transforming the way care is delivered.
The event will allow students to spend time with female physicians in primary care, women’s health, orthopaedics, anesthesiology and general surgery services. The students will hear first-hand from female physicians what they do, why they chose their field, and the journey they took to get there. Each classroom will have hands-on demonstrations of what the physicians do, including instruction on how to use various instruments and technologies. Around 40 students from across the region will attend the event.

The Christ Hospital Women in Medicine group was developed for female physicians on The Christ Hospital Medical staff as a way to come together for the purpose of networking, building relationships, assisting with balancing work and lifestyle, gaining leadership with the medical staff and sponsoring community outreach events.
The media is encouraged to attend the event. If you’re interested in attending, please contact Kendall Herold at 513-263-8621 or Kendall.Herold@TheChristHospital.com for more details.
