The Christ Hospital Medical Center – Liberty Township Welcomes First Baby Born in New Family Birthing Center

The Family Birthing Center is The Christ Hospital Health Network’s Second Birthing Center in the Region, and First in Butler County

The newly opened Family Birthing Center in The Christ Hospital Medical Center – Liberty Township is excited to announce the birth of the center’s first baby. Baby Maria was on born on Monday, January 15, exactly one week after the Medical Center’s grand opening.

“We’re so excited to be the first family to deliver at The Family Birthing Center,” said mother Caitlin Radjewski. “I thought it was so fun that my family could be part of the birthing experience. It was amazing that my five-year-old could watch through the window.”

The Christ Hospital Medical Center – Liberty Township includes nine delivery rooms, four private special care nursery rooms, two dedicated cesarean section birthing rooms, and is home to the only cesarean section birth viewing room in the region, allowing families see into the room during a planned cesarean section birth, with prior permission from the physician.

“We kept Maria’s name a surprise from the rest of the family,” said father Bill Radjewski. “It’s special to us because it’s the name of my mother who passed away three years ago. We got to do a fun reveal for the family since they were watching the entire thing.”

“We’re also really thankful for the LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) room because it meant that our family could stay together the entire time,” said Bill.

The state-of-the-art Family Birthing Center offers a boutique-like experience for expecting mothers and their families. Its LDRP patient rooms include a kitchenette and a family room that allows the family to stay in one place from labor to discharge.

In addition to the Family Birthing Center, The Christ Hospital Medical Center – Liberty Township offers surgical services including operating rooms with extended recovery for patients, an emergency room, comprehensive radiology imaging, outpatient therapies as well as physician services that include primary care, orthopedics, cardiology, ear, nose and throat, and urology.
