The Christ Hospital Named Among America’s 50 Best Hospitals by Healthgrades

For the 12th consecutive year, The Christ Hospital has been listed as one of America’s 50 Best Hospitals by Healthgrades. Based solely on clinical quality outcomes, Healthgrades America’s Best Hospitals™ rewards excellence over a multi-year time period. This premier distinction provides a measure of confidence for consumers.

America’s Best Hospitals is Healthgrades highest distinction. America’s 50 Best Hospitals™ are in the top one percent of hospitals in the nation for providing overall clinical excellence across a broad spectrum of conditions and procedures consistently for at least six consecutive years. These hospitals demonstrate successful clinical outcomes across the majority of common inpatient conditions and procedures and sustain this performance.

The Healthgrades analysis revealed that, on average, America’s Best Hospitals outperformed their peers in treating a core group of conditions that account for more than 80 percent of mortalities in areas evaluated, including heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, respiratory failure, sepsis and stroke.

Patients treated in hospitals achieving the America’s 100 Best Hospitals Award™ have, on average, a 22.3 percent lower risk of dying than if they were treated in hospitals that did not receive this award. If all hospitals, as a group, performed similarly to hospitals achieving Healthgrades 2018 America’s 100 Best Hospitals Award, on average, 162,284 lives could potentially have been saved.
