CINCINNATI (May 10, 2022) – The Christ Hospital has been recognized for its dedication to patient safety by being awarded a grade of “A” in the Spring 2022 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade Report. The nation’s most prestigious award for patient safety rates how well hospitals protect patients from preventable medical errors, injuries and infections within the hospital.
An “A” grade is one of the most meaningful honors a hospital can achieve and one of the most valuable indicators for patients looking for a safe place to receive care. The Hospital Safety Score is the gold standard rating for patient safety, compiled under the guidance of the nation’s leading patient safety experts and administered by The Leapfrog Group, a national, independent nonprofit.

The Leapfrog Group, an independent national watchdog organization, assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D,” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on more than thirty national performance measures reflecting errors, injuries, accidents and infections, as well as systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm. Nearly 3,000 hospitals were assessed for these grades.
