The Christ Hospital’s Montgomery Outpatient Center Earns LEED Certification for Energy Efficiency

Facility Designed to be Environmentally Friendly

Cincinnati (June 22, 2015) – The Christ Hospital’s Montgomery Outpatient Center recently received LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification, which was established by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), for its energy efficiency and sustainability.

The Montgomery Outpatient Center, which celebrated its grand opening in May, offers access to state-of-the-art technology and award-winning physicians in a convenient location as part of The Christ Hospital’s commitment to transforming care in the Montgomery area. From the start of the development process, the 80,000 square foot facility was designed to be environmentally friendly.

“The Christ Hospital is proud to receive official LEED certification recognizing our efforts to bring a healthy, transformative and environmentally sustainable environment to people living in the Montgomery area,” said Deborah Hayes, vice president and chief operating officer at The Christ Hospital. “The Christ Hospital worked efficiently throughout the development process with its partners to create a green campus that would meet the criteria for LEED certification and to recycle and reuse materials.”

The Montgomery Outpatient Center received LEED certification for water use reduction, using low emitting materials inside the building to reduce concentrations of chemical contaminants, and using light-colored building materials on the roof to reduce heat islands to minimize impacts on microclimates and human and wildlife habitats. According to the USGBC, by using less energy and water, LEED certified buildings save money for families, businesses and taxpayers, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and contribute to a healthier environment for employees, residents and the larger community.

The Montgomery Outpatient Center was developed by Brandicorp LLC, with Duke Realty serving as contractor. McGill, Smith, Punshon, Inc., served as site architect, with interiors designed by GBBN Architects.

“Our company’s focus is to always keep sustainable processes and LEED in mind when we develop our building,” said Michael Brandy, president of Brandicorp, LLC. “We are very proud to be a part of such a wonderful project.”

The Montgomery Outpatient Center is conveniently located ½ mile north of I-275 at 11140 Montgomery Road. For more information about the Montgomery Outpatient Center and the services offered, visit https://www.thechristhospital.com/locations/outpatient-centers/montgomery.
