EZCare Video Visits Through MyChart 

Accessing a provider with The Christ Hospital Physicians is now easier than ever, with EZCare Video Visits through MyChart. A video visit is a scheduled appointment with your healthcare provider where you connect via MyChart on your smartphone or tablet, or through a browser on your computer. You will be able to see, hear and speak to your provider, similar to the experience you have with friends or family using Facetime. Video visits allow you to receive care in a more convenient way, while also allowing you to socially distance during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Who can do a video visit? 

Dozens of providers with The Christ Hospital Physicians, in a variety of specialties, are offering video visits (with more rolling out each day), but you should call your provider’s office to determine if a video visit is right for you or if they recommend you be seen in person or access care another way.

Also, state law requires you to be in the same state in which your provider is licensed. You must be in the state where you usually see your provider at the time of the visit.

When should I schedule a video visit?  

When you call your provider’s office, the scheduler will let you know if a video visit is appropriate based on your needs or condition, or if other care options are best suited to your needs. In general, video visits are available for: 

  • Illness

  • Post-op follow-up care 

  • Chronic care 

  • Initial consultations 

How do I schedule a video visit? 

Call your provider’s office to determine if a video visit is right for you. If your appointment is appropriate for a video visit, the scheduler will book your appointment and provide instructions for how to conduct the visit.

Can I schedule a video visit with a provider I've never seen before?

Some providers are able to perform new patient visits using video visits. To find one, call our new patient scheduling line at 513-585-3000.

What do I need to participate in a video visit?

  • An active MyChart account (contact your provider’s office for assistance if you don’t already have one). 

  • A good internet connection

  • A mobile device or computer (laptop or desktop) with webcam 

What is the cost of a video visit? 

Video visits are covered by most insurance plans and billed as a normal office visit. Depending on your plan, you may be charged a small co-pay. If you don’t have insurance, video visits would be considered self-pay and due at the time of scheduling.

I have an upcoming appointment scheduled with my provider. Should I call to reschedule it for a video visit? 

Your provider’s office will contact you if your appointment can be transitioned to a video visit. Otherwise, your visit will be in person as scheduled. 

Are video visits secure? 

Video visits use secure video conferencing technology developed for medical care. The software’s security and confidentiality protocols meet the requirements of HIPAA. 

Are alternate options for care available? 

You should always contact your provider’s office for guidance on the most appropriate way to receive care. Based on your current needs and condition, he or she may recommend one of the following: 

  • Video visit

  • In-office visit

  • E-visit

  • Phone visit

  • Respiratory care center visit 

  • Urgent Care visit 

  • Emergency department visit
