Outpatient Behavioral Health

If you are facing mental health issues or battling substance use, we have a full range of outpatient services to help you. The Christ Hospital Health Network offers highly structured partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs for anyone 18 or older. Our outpatient programs are designed so you don’t have to put your life on hold during treatment.

We believe therapy works better in a supportive group environment that promotes personal growth and understanding. Our groups focus on recovery, coping skills and goal-setting. You work with others who share your diagnosis to support one another and practice the coping skills necessary for your recovery.

Our treatment groups include:

  • Chemical dependency – offers evidence-based treatment for addiction and includes regular and random drug testing

  • Co-occurring disorders or dual diagnosis – focuses on chemical dependency treatment and mental health recovery

  • Mental wellness – focuses on chronic behaviors, safety and stability

  • We offer care for mental health diagnosis and dual diagnosis, including:

  • Addiction

  • Anxiety

  • Bipolar disorder

  • Depression

  • Posttraumatic stress disorder

  • Psychosis

  • Suicide

  • Substance abuse

Outpatient Behavioral Health Services

We offer several outpatient programs to ensure you are getting the right care, in the right place, at the right time—whether you are transitioning out of inpatient treatment, or you are receiving mental health or substance abuse therapy for the first time.

Physician referrals are not required, and we are considered in-network with most major insurance providers. We can help you through the process of insurance verification and get you into our therapy programs quickly.

Services include:

  • Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)

  • Family education and counseling

  • Medication management

  • Solution-focused therapy

  • Trauma-focused therapy

  • Wellness education

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

Our partial hospitalization program can be a step down from our inpatient program or an alternative to inpatient care. Our program is offered as a day program in a relaxed, nonclinical setting for six hours a day, five days a week. Depending on your diagnosis, you will stay in the PHP program for about two to three weeks. Lunch is provided during our day program.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

Our intensive outpatient program (IOP) is for anyone who is experiencing mental health and substance abuse issues that need more support than traditional outpatient therapy typically provides. Your therapy will take place in a relaxed, nonclinical setting, three hours a day, three days a week for approximately six to seven weeks.

What to Expect

The first step is a confidential assessment by a licensed mental health professional to determine the level of care you need—inpatient, partial hospitalization or intensive outpatient therapy. We recommend you bring a family member or a loved one to your evaluation and a list of all of your current medications.

Immediately after the assessment, you will be assigned a doctor or a nurse practitioner to begin your therapy. There is no waiting—you typically begin therapy the day after the assessment. For our partial hospitalization program, once you begin programming with your therapist, you will be seen by our doctor for a complete health physical, including a medical history.

Our group therapies are customized to your needs and the unique challenges you are facing. Our experienced team of mental health professionals will work with each group to personalize therapy.

How Do I Benefit from Outpatient Behavioral Health?

Our programs are designed to help you become happier, stronger and healthier than ever before. If you or a loved one is struggling with addiction or a mental health disorder, we personalize our services and programs to work with you through each step of recovery.

To get the most out of outpatient treatment, it is important you attend all group and individual sessions. Our goal is to give you the tools to help you regain your life.
