Achieving Better Care for Heart Failure Patients
Watch to learn more about our Advanced Heart Failure Program and its impact on our patients' lives.
Heart failure is a condition that develops when the heart's muscle becomes weakened and loses its ability to pump enough blood to supply the body's needs. The condition affects over five million Americans and is one of the fastest-growing heart issues.
Our heart failure team is advancing the level of care available to patients in the Tristate. We offer access to advanced heart failure physicians in all of our The Christ Hospital Physicians - Ohio Heart & Vascular locations and are the only hospital with an entire unit and team of specialists dedicated to heart failure. Our focus on patient education provides resources to help patients manage their conditions and improve quality of life. We work together to ensure patients have the necessary tools and information to stay healthy at home.
Heart Failure Resources:
A ventricular assist device (VAD) is an advanced treatment option for end-stage heart failure. It’s a mechanical pump that’s implanted in the heart to help it pump more effectively.
This valuable program connects patients to specially trained nurses after discharge to review diet, exercise, medication and other lifestyle modifications to help them transition from the hospital to home.
