Women’s Heart Center at The Christ Hospital

Did you know that heart disease is the leading cause of death for women in the United States? One in every five female deaths is attributed to heart disease, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Many heart conditions occur more commonly in women than men but require advanced expertise to correctly diagnose and treat.

At The Christ Hospital, we are dedicated to caring for women with all types of cardiovascular disease (CVD). As the number one cardiac care healthcare system in Greater Cincinnati, The Christ Hospital Heart & Vascular Center team is internationally known for clinical research and cutting-edge CVD treatments. Our team is committed to exceptional care and raising awareness about cardiovascular disease in women.

A focus on women's distinct cardiac needs

Our groundbreaking Women's Heart Center, created and led by Odayme Quesada, MD, MHS, offers one convenient location dedicated to the unique cardiovascular needs of women.

As one of the only female-focused CVD programs in the nation, the Women's Heart Center is a groundbreaking new approach to cardiovascular care. Our team is proud to bring such a vitally important program to the region.

The risk factors for developing cardiovascular disease are often different in women than men. We are committed to raising awareness about female cardiovascular risks, including pregnancy disorders like preeclampsia and autoimmune diseases such as lupus.

The symptoms and progression of conditions like heart attacks and heart failure can also be very different in women than men. They require in-depth knowledge and training for correct diagnosis and treatment. At the new Women's Heart Center, our focus is specialized cardiovascular care for our female patients. We're here for all of your heart and vascular needs, whether it's a worrisome symptom, chronic condition or an issue that requires expert cardiovascular attention.
