​​​Prediabetes is a condition in which blood glucose levels are higher than normal putting you at risk for diabetes. Individual and group education sessions are provided by licensed and registered dietitians for adults diagnosed with prediabetes. 

Tests to diagnose diabetes:

• Impaired Fasting Glucose (IFG) 
  

• Impaired Glucose Tolerance (IGT) 
  

• Insulin Resistance 
  

• Fasting Blood Glucose between 100 to 125mg/dL 
  

• Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) 5.7% to 6.4%​

​At our group and individual education sessions, you can learn about:​

• Prediabetes and other types of diabetes 
  

• Risk factors of Type 2 diabetes 
  

• Blood glucose levels 
  

• Healthy eating 
  

• Portion control 
  

• Physical activity 
  

• Reducing risks​

​Unfortunately, most insurance plans do not currently cover prediabetes education. Session fees are self-pay and are due at the time of the class.
