CINCINNATI (November 6, 2023) – The Christ Hospital has been recognized for its dedication to patient safety by being awarded a grade of “A” for the Fall 2023 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade Report. The nation’s most prestigious award for patient safety rates how well hospitals protect patients from preventable medical errors, injuries and infections within the hospital.
An “A” grade is one of the most meaningful honors a hospital can achieve and one of the most valuable indicators for patients looking for a safe place to receive care. The Hospital Safety Score is the gold standard rating for patient safety, compiled under the guidance of the nation’s leading patient safety experts and administered by The Leapfrog Group, a national, independent nonprofit.
“Receiving Leapfrog’s “A” grade is proof that patients, their families and loved ones can depend on the highest safety standards in the healthcare industry while at The Christ Hospital Health Network,” said Debbie Hayes, President and CEO of The Christ Hospital Health Network. “Our team members continue to demonstrate their commitment to doing everything it takes for the safety of all of our patients each and every day. The standard of quality access at our healthcare network helps fulfill our mission of improving the health of our community while providing value as a result of exceptional patient outcomes.”
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses up to 30 national performance measures from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the Leapfrog Hospital Survey and information from other supplemental data sources. Nearly 3,000 hospitals were assessed for these grades.
