Babies at The Christ Hospital are ‘Born to Be Wild’ in New Onesies Celebrating the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden’s 150th Birthday

Zoo Animals Will Visit The Christ Hospital on Thursday, Sept 18

CINCINNATI (September 16, 2025) – The Christ Hospital Health Network will celebrate the 150th birthday of the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden on Thursday Sept. 18 in a ‘wild’ way.

All babies born in our Mt. Auburn and Liberty Birthing Centers on Thursday, Sept 18, will receive a limited edition ‘Born to be Wild’ onesie with images of paintings done by several animals at the zoo including a hippo, giraffe and porcupines. Parents will also be gifted tickets to visit the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden.

On Thursday, Sept 18 from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. outside of the main entrance of The Christ Hospital in Mt. Auburn, the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Gardens will bring several animals for team members and patients to see and interact with including Lily the skunk, a blue tongue skink and a Brazilian rainbow boa.

“The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden is a crown jewel of our city, and we could not be more excited to be partnering again to celebrate its 150th birthday,” said Debbie Hayes, President & CEO of The Christ Hospital Health Network. “We are delighted to celebrate these newborns and their families while also highlighting the work our birthing centers that deliver the best care.”

This is not the first time that The Christ Hospital Health Network and Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden have partnered together. When the new Level III NICU opened in Mt. Auburn that included 14 new bays, a private isolation room and other amenities, The Cincinnati Zoo enhanced the ambiance of the physical space incorporating artwork, created by some of the zoo animals, into the design of the entire unit. This provided an inviting and playful atmosphere for families during their stay.

"We love teaming up with The Christ Hospital to celebrate babies born on the Zoo’s birthday,” said Chad Yelton, Vice President of Marketing for the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden. “This onesie is truly one-of-a-kind — uniquely designed with inspiration from some of our animal artists including hippo kisses from Fiona’s mom, Bibi, hoof prints from Tessa the giraffe and porcupine feet. It’s a fun way to welcome little ones and share a piece of the Zoo with their families.”

On behalf of The Christ Hospital Health Network and the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden, we wish these families the best!
