Brooke Shelton, CNP, is a nurse practitioner with The Christ Hospital Physicians who specializes in Interventional Pain Management through The Christ Hospital’s Interventional Spine Program at the Joint & Spine Center in Mt. Auburn.
Observing the dedication, compassion, and skilled care provided by nurses and doctors to a close family member with heart issues sparked an interest in Brooke at an early age to pursue a career in medicine. She approaches patient care with a focus on the same level of patient-centered compassion that inspired her pursuits.
“My approach to care is to treat each patient with empathy and respect,” she says. “I listen to each patient and include them in all aspects of their care.” She places a strong emphasis on education and two-way communication so her patients can fully understand their diagnosis and treatment options. She allows enough time during each visit for patients to ask questions so they can speak with confidence in helping to determine their plan of care.
Brooke Earned a Master of Science in Nursing and a Post Masters Certificate in Nursing from Xavier University. She is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
In her free time, Brooke enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.
