About Gregory F. Egnaczyk, MD

Dr Egnaczyk completed undergraduate training in chemical engineering at Yale University. He then finished an MD/PhD program at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. His internal medicine training was at Massachusetts General Hospital. He completed general cardiology training and advanced HF/transplant training at Duke University Medical Center.

Dr. Egnaczyk moved to Cincinnati in 2011 to help establish an LVAD Center at The Christ Hospital, which has since treated more than 250 patients. His research experience spans investigating the molecular pathways of cardiac regeneration to clinical trials in new medical and device therapies in heart failure. He completed his undergraduate training at Yale University; finished his MD/PhD program at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine; received internal medicine training at Massachusetts General Hospital; and completed general cardiology and advanced heart failure/transplant training at Duke University Medical Center. Besides mechanical circulatory support devices, he is interested in high risk cardiomyopathies and cardiovascular intensive care medicine.

Dr. Egnaczyk is the Medical Director of Advanced Heart Failure and the Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) Program. In 2022, he was named the Frank and Margo Homan Family Endowed Chair for Heart Failure. The $2 million Endowed Chair was established in 2017 to support The Christ Hospital’s Heart and Vascular program in its continuing role as a national leader in cardiovascular care. The gift ensures that the region’s premiere heart program will continue groundbreaking work in the area of Heart Failure.

Dr. Egnaczyk's research experience spans from investigating the molecular pathways of cardiac regeneration to clinical trials in new medical and device therapies in heart failure. He has been named in the Top Doctors in Cincinnati since 2015 and won the Top Provider category for Cincinnati Business Courier Health Care Heroes in 2018. Dr. Egnaczyk was also featured on Cincinnati Magazine January 2018 cover in the the article by CM Editors, "Finding New Ways to Keep Hearts Pumping."
