The Christ Hospital Health Network Patient App (“Patient App”) communications that contain health information are subject to all applicable state and federal laws governing the security and confidentiality of medical records.

Some of the information The Christ Hospital Health Network collects through the Patient App may be “personal information” that would identify you, personally, alone or in combination with other information available to The Christ Hospital Health Network. Some examples of personal information may include, but are not limited to e-mail address, name, home or work address, telephone number, ZIP code, age, gender preferences, access times and account activity. We will retain your information for as long as is needed to provide services or comply with our legal obligations.
Use of your Personal Information
The Christ Hospital Health Network Patient App may interact with your sensitive data to provide certain features, such as video visits or mobile appointment check-in. The first time you try to use any of these features, we will ask for your consent within the app and will only allow you to use a feature if you give consent. You do not have to provide consent if you do not want to allow The Christ Hospital Health Network Patient App to interact with your data as requested. The Christ Hospital Health Network Patient App is developed by Epic Systems Corporation; please refer to Epic’s Mobile Application Privacy Policy for Patients for more detailed information about the limited ways they may interact with your information to make your use of The Christ Hospital Health Network Patient App possible.
The Christ Hospital Health Network Patient App may offer location-based check-in for in-person appointments or allow you to find healthcare providers near you. The first time you try to use any features that use your location, we will ask for your consent within the app and will only access your location if you give consent. You do not have to provide consent if you do not want to allow The Christ Hospital Health Network Patient App to use your location. We do not store your location data.
We may share your information with third parties for the purpose of billing, payment processing, management and hosting of telemedicine services, customer service or other operational purposes. We may share data with business associates working on our behalf. Your information may not be used by third parties providers for any purpose other than those related to the services they are providing us.
The Christ Hospital Health Network does not sell, rent, or lease patient lists nor will we authorize any of our service providers or business partners to use this information for their own purposes without your consent.
With your permission, our App can connect to Apple Healthkit or Google Fit to receive health information and to share that information with your healthcare providers.
Acceptance of these Terms
The use of the Patient App is completely voluntary. If you do not agree to the terms of this privacy statement or the use of your information as set forth in this privacy statement, please do not use The Christ Hospital Patient App. Your continued use of the Patient App subsequent to changes in this statement will signify your acceptance of the changes.
Protecting Children’s Privacy
The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA) addresses how information is gathered and used from children under the age of 13. While The Christ Hospital Health Network is a nonprofit organization not subject to COPPA, we are serious about children’s privacy. The Christ Hospital Health Network’s mobile and online services are directed at an adult audience and are not intended or designed to attract children under the age of 13, and except for certain information in The Christ Hospital Health Network Patient App as authorized by law, we do not knowingly collect, maintain, or use personal information from children under 13 years of age.
Privacy Policy updates
The Christ Hospital Health Network reserves the right to modify the terms of this policy, and the changes will apply to all information we have about you. If we make significant changes, we will post a prominent message in The Christ Hospital Patient App.
