An open letter from the Chief Nursing Officer of The Christ Hospital Health Network

It is with great pleasure and pride that I share The Christ Hospital Health Network's nursing vision and achievements. We are highlighting the exceptional work and accomplishments of not only our nursing staff, but also our entire clinical team. Through these efforts it is clear that The Christ Hospital Health Network Mission and Vision is in action.

Excellence is a choice; it does not happen by coincidence and it does not happen without intense effort and commitment. Our nursing staff exemplify this each and every day. Each of the featured achievements demonstrates excellence and aligns with the five components of the Magnet Model.

  • Transformational leadership

  • Structural Empowerment

  • Exemplary Professional Practice

  • New Knowledge and Innovation

  • Enhanced Empirical Outcomes

As you will see, our nurses are improving patient outcomes in every area – from the enhancement of bedside shift report and hourly rounding to a renewed focus on employee safety through our Professional Enrichment at The Christ Hospital (PEATCH) workforce team. Their commitment, leadership and excellence are unsurpassed and they make a significant difference in the lives of patients every day and the lives of each and every team member.

The Christ Hospital has received the NRC Health Top 100 Consumer Loyalty Award again in 2020, given to those national healthcare organizations that set a new standard in elevating the entire patient and consumer experience. In 2017, NRC Health decided to sunset the Consumer Choice Awards, but during that award's lifespan, The Christ Hospital was recognized as the region's Most Preferred Hospital for 22 consecutive years.  Without each and every Christ Hospital nurse, this would not be possible. I look forward to carrying on our exceptional work in FY20!

Sincerely,

Julie Holt RN, MSN, CENP
