Months after making history as the first Christ Hospital Foundation Guild event to surpass the six-figure fundraising mark, the impact of Off the Wall continues to be felt by kidney transplant patients and families across our community.
Last October, the Guild’s beloved annual art auction raised more than $100,000, making it not only the first Off the Wall event to cross the $100,000 threshold, but also the highest-grossing fundraiser in Guild history. Today, those record-breaking funds are already helping provide meaningful assistance for patients navigating the transplant journey.
To date, nearly $45,000 has already been put to work addressing critical patient needs, funding approximately 700 moments of direct assistance and counting for kidney transplant patients and their loved ones.
That support includes practical resources to make a difficult journey a little easier, from educational booklets and medication tools to recovery items like water bottles, scales, and therapeutic pillows, as well as free meals on long testing days.
For transplant patients, the path to and through surgery is rarely straightforward. Recovery needs, financial strain, unexpected complications, and logistical challenges can create overwhelming burdens at already difficult moments. Care items made possible by Off the Wall help ensure that patients and families receive compassionate assistance at every stage of that journey.
The historic success of the 2025 event was made possible through the generosity of local artists, volunteers, sponsors, and community supporters who came together for the Guild’s signature lottery-style art auction at Cooper Creek.
“This event made history, but more importantly, it is making a real difference for patients today,” said Barb Mustard, event co-chair and Guild vice chair. “Crossing the six-figure mark for the first time was an incredible milestone for the Guild, and seeing those dollars already at work helping transplant patients and families makes that achievement even more meaningful.”
Hosted by The Christ Hospital Foundation Guild, a volunteer-led organization dedicated to improving health and wellness across the region, Off the Wall has become a cherished annual tradition that blends creativity with compassion.
What began as a record-breaking night last fall is now delivering lifechanging support for transplant patients and families, demonstrating the extraordinary impact a community can make when generosity meets purpose.
