Diagnosing Elbow Dislocation
An elbow dislocation can lead to nerve or blood vessel damage. If you experience symptoms of elbow dislocation after an injury, seek medical attention right away.
Signs & Symptoms
Common symptoms of an elbow dislocation include:
- Inability to move or bend the elbow
- Numbness or tingling
- Pain in the elbow, especially when moving
- Swelling and/or bruising around the elbow joint
- Visible deformity of the elbow, such as appearing out of place
Diagnosis
To diagnose a dislocated elbow, we may conduct a physical exam and use X-rays to examine the position of your elbow bones and look for fractures.
