Personalized care means we provide you with exclusive one-on-one therapy to maximize your results, with no reliance on group sessions. Our personalized therapies are even offered on weekends.

Specialized Physician Access

When the need arises, you’ll have access to in-house physicians from multiple specialties who are among the best in the region. Your daily care is provided by a board-certified Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician who’s an expert in recovery.

Personalized, Ongoing Support

After a treatment, your provider can easily follow up in person about your care. And because recovery can continue after you’re no longer a patient, our multidisciplinary approach includes ongoing support, such as case management, nutrition counseling, psychological counseling, and social work.

Conditions We Treat

Receive a full spectrum of intensive treatments and therapies, if you experience conditions and procedures that cause a loss of function in daily activities, mobility, cognition, or communication. We treat a wide range of conditions requiring medically complex rehabilitation, including:

Who We Treat

To qualify for inpatient rehabilitation, you must be medically stable but have medical needs that require an ongoing hospital stay.

Currently we don’t serve patients who are ventilator-dependent, comatose, or have complete quadriplegia or burn-management needs.

Services We Offer

Before your physical and occupational rehabilitation begins, we work with you and your family to complete a comprehensive evaluation, establish realistic rehabilitation goals, and develop a discharge plan.

All patients have around-the-clock rehabilitation nursing care and are seen daily by a physician trained in rehabilitative medicine.

To reach your rehabilitation goals, we offer the following services:

Physical Therapy

Physical therapy focuses on restoring your function; managing your pain; and increasing your coordination, stability, strength, and endurance using therapeutic exercises and rehab procedures.

With physical therapy, our goal is to prevent, correct, or relieve your disability and improve your function.

Your physical therapy treatments may include:

Balance activities
Coordination activities
Family training
Gait training
Neuromuscular techniques
Physical measures such as muscle stimulation
Therapeutic exercise
Transfer training
Use of assistive devices

Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy helps you regain function and self-care skills so you can participate in everyday activities at home, school, and work, and in the community and other settings.

Whenever possible, the ultimate goal is to return you to the level of function you had before your symptoms.

Your occupational therapy treatments may include:

Activities to establish compensatory techniques or restore daily living skills
Assessment and treatment for visual impairment
Design, fabrication, and application of a splint
Family training
Perception, cognition, and psychosocial treatment
Procedures to promote and enhance safety
Sensory motor integration program
Wheelchair management

Speech and Language Therapy

You may need speech and language therapy to regain your skills if you’ve had a stroke, traumatic brain injury, or neurological disorder.

Our goal is to maximize your eating, drinking, communication, and cognitive abilities.

Your speech and language therapy may include:

Swallowing evaluation done at the bedside or in the X-ray department
Modified barium swallow study
Communication and cognition evaluation
Diet modification
Oral motor exercise
Treatment of speech, language, and cognitive function
Activities to improve intelligibility, comprehension, verbal expression, reading, writing, memory, attention, planning, and organization
Training in techniques to compensate for a deficit, weakness, or injury
Restorative dining for therapeutic assistance during meals
Community re-entry training matched to your needs

The therapy may happen in both group and individual therapy sessions.

Support Services

Hemodialysis Rehabilitation Care

If you’re a hemodialysis patient who requires rehabilitation, we offer a special program that offers the following things:

Your dialysis team working with your rehabilitation team to coordinate your hemodialysis based on your rehabilitative needs
Daily care by a physician and nephrologist
On dialysis days, physical, occupational, or speech therapy before hemodialysis, which occurs after 4 pm
Time for you to recover from hemodialysis before the next day’s intensive therapies

Stroke Rehabilitation Care

If you’ve had a stroke and need therapy, our comprehensive rehabilitation program offers personalized treatment and education, using the latest techniques and leading-edge technology.

Incorporating a standardized, interdisciplinary approach, our stroke program is the only one in Greater Cincinnati accredited by The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF)—an international, non-profit organization.

Most major insurance providers including Medicare cover our program for stroke rehabilitation care, which includes:

Addressing psychological and/or social issues
Improving activities of daily living
Managing bowel and bladder dysfunctions
Maximizing mobility and independence
Preventing other possible complications
Promoting a positive self-image

Our primary goal is to prepare you for returning home, either independently or with assistance from a care provider.

We specifically focus on your ability to:

Communicate using speech and language skills.
Perform daily activities, like eating, grooming, dressing, bathing, and homemaking.
Retain and interpret information and make sound decisions.
