Meet our Residents

Allison Belmont, PharmD
Hometown: Rochester, NY
Pharmacy School: Cedarville University
Professional Interests: Internal medicine, ambulatory care, geriatrics
Personal Interests: I enjoy reading thrillers or romance novels, playing card games with family and friends, trying new coffee shops, and painting my nails- a newfound hobby of mine!
Why TCH? TCH felt like the perfect fit from the moment I interviewed. I was initially drawn to the program because I had always wanted to live in Cincinnati, and TCH offered a variety of rotations and PGY2 opportunities that aligned well with my clinical interests. After interviewing, I truly loved everything about the program and hospital, and I am so grateful to have matched at TCH! Everyone I have interacted with has been so welcoming, and pharmacy is highly valued and integrated throughout the hospital.
Advice for students interested in pursuing a residency: Be open to every opportunity that comes your way! Keep an open mind, challenge yourself during your APPE rotations, and take the time to get to know your preceptors and other members of the programs you are interested in. Start working on your CV early. It will make the application process much less stressful.
Before applying, do your best to learn about and familiarize yourself with each program. Building those connections and learning about the program ahead of time can help you feel more comfortable and prepared when it comes time for interviews. After, create a pros and cons list for each program. This will be helpful when it’s time to finalize your rank list.
Most importantly, remember your “why.” Why do you want to pursue residency? Residency will be a challenging year, but it is also an incredible opportunity for growth, learning, and professional development. Keep your goals and motivations in mind throughout the process! You got this!

Abigail Casile, PharmD
Hometown: Chagrin Falls, Ohio
Pharmacy School: University of Cincinnati JLWCOP
Professional Interests: I am interested in critical care and emergency medicine.
Personal Interests: Outside of work, I enjoy cooking and baking, taking care of my houseplants, trying new coffee drinks, and spending time with friends and family.
Why TCH? My first APPE rotation was at The Christ Hospital, and I had a really positive experience there. I appreciated how approachable and supportive the pharmacists and preceptors were, while still pushing me to grow. TCH felt like a place where I could build my clinical skills, learn from a strong team, and become more confident as a pharmacist.
Advice for students interested in pursuing a residency? Try to get involved in experiences that genuinely interest you, whether that is a rotation, research project, organization, or leadership role. Ask questions, be open to feedback, and find people you can go to for advice!

Lydia Donley, PharmD
Hometown: New Richmond, OH
Pharmacy School: University of Cincinnati JLWCOP
Professional Interests: Some practice areas I am interested in are critical care, emergency medicine, and sometimes I really enjoy ambulatory care. I love getting to know patients on a deeper level, not just what brings them to the hospital or the appointment. I also enjoy getting to work with other practitioners, creating plans for patients that will best suit them.
Personal Interests: I love reality TV, so recently I have been binging a few of my favorites. I also enjoy reading, but I have been in a reading slump recently (I need to get back to it!). My family is my rock, so I make sure I get to spend as much time as possible with them! Also, my husband and I have been really enjoying our after-dinner walks.
Why TCH? I felt welcomed the second I stepped foot into the hospital. The pharmacy crew is so kind and makes you feel like you are their friend, not just their colleague. The physicians I have had interactions with so far are very pharmacy-friendly and really take our opinion seriously. Also, I can't not mention how yummy the coffee shop is!
Advice for students interested in pursuing a residency: Challenge yourself to step outside of your comfort zone! It can be very scary and intimidating, but if you put yourself in situations that you normally wouldn't, you will grow SO MUCH! I never thought I would be able to push myself, but I am so happy I did during my APPE year so that I put myself in the best position for not only residency, but for my career in general. The more you put yourself out there and try new things, you will become a better pharmacist AND person!

Emma Honeyman, PharmD
Hometown: Marysville, WA
Pharmacy School: The University of Washington
Professional Interests: Critical care, cardiology, psych
Personal Interests: Lifting weights, hiking, running, trying new restaurants
Why TCH? I was seeking a supportive but challenging large community hospital program with multiple crit care rotations and opportunities to be involved in code blue responses. TCH fit that perfectly. Additionally, I wanted to do residency in a different state and I'm so grateful the program and entire TCH pharmacy department have made me feel right at home.
Advice for students interested in pursuing a residency? Don't rule out the out-of-state programs! PGY1 exposes you to new people, areas of medicine, projects, etc. and I have greatly enjoyed also being immersed in a new part of the country as part of this year.
