New Center Provides Personalized Comprehensive Approach to Weight Management
CINCINNATI (October 20, 2026) - The Christ Hospital Health Network has launched its new Center for Obesity & Metabolic Health at 7450 Mason-Montgomery Road in Mason, providing patients with a comprehensive, medically guided approach to weight management.
Obesity is a complex chronic medical condition influenced by a range of factors, including genetics, metabolism, hormones, medications, behaviors and lifestyle. The new Center brings together medical expertise, nutrition, behavioral health, physical activity guidance and ongoing support to identify the factors affecting each patient and create an individualized treatment plan.
"Too often, people who struggle with their weight are made to feel like they simply need to eat less, exercise more or try harder. We know it is much more complex than that," said Monika Moni, MD, FAAFP, DABOM, Medical Director of the Center for Obesity & Metabolic Health at The Christ Hospital Health Network. "Our goal is to understand the whole person - what is happening medically, metabolically, nutritionally and behaviorally - and give each patient the expertise, tools and support they need to improve their health for the long term."
Patients begin with a medical evaluation to help identify underlying causes of weight gain, which may include hormonal conditions, insulin resistance, metabolic disorders, medication effects, genetic factors and lifestyle influences. The Center also offers body composition analysis and resting metabolic rate testing.
The Center's multidisciplinary team includes an obesity medicine physician, registered dietitian, behavioral health therapist, medical assistant and practice manager. Patients have access to specialists throughout The Christ Hospital Health Network in areas including diabetes and endocrinology, preventive cardiology, women's heart health, sleep medicine, physical therapy, orthopedics and bariatric surgery.
"We don't define success by a number on a scale," said Dr. Moni. "For one person, success may mean improving blood pressure or blood sugar. For another, it may mean having more energy, moving without pain or reducing the risk of future disease. We want to help patients achieve meaningful, sustainable improvements in their health - and give them continued support along the way."
