The Network’s investments are growing their capabilities in cancer care in response to the increasing cancer rates throughout the region, and in some cases, eclipsing the national averages. Specific cancers are on the rise in the Tristate creating a need for local cancer care that rivals that of the best centers in the country. This donation comes as The Christ Hospital Health Network was named to Newsweek’s Best Cancer Hospitals List for 2023.
“As a non-profit entity, The Christ Hospital Health Network is very grateful for the support of our donors to ensure that the Network is able to continually elevate the exceptional level of care we provide, ensuring exceptionally talented physicians, using the latest innovative technologies and treatments are available to community members across the region,” said Debbie Hayes, President and CEO of The Christ Hospital Health Network. “We are grateful to the Yung Family and their Foundation for this generous gift.”
Last year, The Christ Hospital Health Network became the only institution outside of the Northeast to join the Dana Farber Cancer Care Collaborative, a consortium of top-performing hospitals in adult medical and radiation oncology. The partnership allows the Network’s oncologists and their patients to consult with leading experts at Dana Farber and provides access to an expansive portfolio of research and clinical trials.
The upward trajectory of the program has been amplified by the generosity of the Yung Family Foundation, led by Bill Yung, Founder and President of Columbia Sussex Corporation and his wife, Marty. In recognition of the exceptional care their daughter received from Jennifer Manders, MD, surgical oncologist at The Christ Hospital Health Network Cancer Center, the family has committed the donation to assist the organization in achieving its strategic goals.
“Our Comprehensive Oncology Program continues to expand,” said Dr. Manders. “The generosity shown by the Yung family will help to propel our program to new heights, creating access to the best cancer care in the country for patients all over the region.”
The donation will support the expansion of our oncology programs and improve the already exceptional patient experience.
