The Christ Hospital Health Network Named to Newsweek’s World’s Best Hospitals 2021 List

The Christ Hospital Health Network is pleased to announce we have been named to Newsweek’s World’s Best Hospitals 2021 list.

The Christ Hospital Health Network is pleased to announce we have been named to Newsweek’s World’s Best Hospitals 2021 list. This prestigious award is presented by Newsweek and Statista Inc., the world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider. The Christ Hospital specifically ranked 76 out of the 350 best general hospitals in the United States that made the list this year. The complete list can be viewed on Newsweek’s website.

The World’s Best Hospitals 2021 recognizes the best medical institutions across 25 countries: USA, Canada, Germany, France, UK, Switzerland, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Australia, Israel, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Thailand, Italy, Brazil, India, Spain, Mexico, Poland, Austria, Belgium and the Netherlands. It is intended to be a resource to help patients make more informed and data-driven decisions when choosing the right hospital for their medical needs. It also functions as a composite benchmark for hospitals to view their relative performance compared to national and international peers.

According to Nancy Cooper, Global Editor-in-Chief, on Newsweek’s website, “This is the third year that Newsweek has partnered with Statista Inc, the respected global data research firm, to reveal the World's Best Hospitals— and it may be our most important ranking yet. As the events of 2020 made clear, our lives and those of our loved ones may rest on the kind of health care we have access to. The 2,000 hospitals named in this list—which covers 25 countries, including United States, United Kingdom, Germany and Canada —stand out for their consistent excellence, including distinguished physicians, top-notch nursing care and state-of-the-art technology. Of course we hope that we, and you, won't need to seek care or visit a friend or family member in any hospital this year. But if you do, this ranking of the World's Best Hospitals 2021 can help you feel confident as you make a critical choice about medical care.”

Newsweek and Statista developed a complex methodology to ensure the quality and validity of the ranking. Three data sources were used for the evaluation:

• Hospital recommendations from peers: an international online survey that included more than 74,000 doctors, hospital managers and healthcare professionals.

• Patient experience: surveys measuring patient satisfaction with hospitals.

• Medical KPIs: patient safety, hygiene measures and quality of treatment.

“We are honored to be included on Newsweek’s World’s Best Hospitals 2021 list,” said Debbie Hayes, Interim President and CEO of The Christ Hospital Health Network. “This distinction recognizes the commitment of our team members to provide the highest quality of care for our community. I am proud to say that this award is among many recognitions our Network has received this year despite the innumerable obstacles we have faced with the pandemic. Awards like this are tangible evidence that we are pressing forth, despite the odds, delivering on our mission to provide value to the community by ensuring patients receive excellent clinical care and the finest experiences.”
