The Christ Hospital Health Network Joins Global Collaboration on Cancer Care

The Christ Hospital Becomes the Newest Member of the Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Care Collaborative

CINCINNATI (JULY 5, 2022) – The Christ Hospital Health Network is expanding its capabilities to offer world-class cancer care to its patients by becoming the newest member of the Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Care Collaborative. Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Care Collaborative includes a select group of hospitals that have demonstrated a commitment to excellence by meeting a wide range of standards and best practices in adult medical and radiation oncology.

The Christ Hospital Health Network’s medical and radiation oncology providers now have access to substantial benefits that include supportive services, second opinions and educational resources on the newest types of cancer care. Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center and The Christ Hospital Health Network will collaborate on various education and training programs for physicians and clinical staff, including the Collaborative’s tumor boards where complex cases are discussed with sub-specialists at Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center.

About the Cancer Care Collaborative

Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Care Collaborative membership is a program offered to hospitals and healthcare providers who undergo an extensive review of the hospital’s oncology practices and procedures across a variety of disciplines. Following this review, Collaborative Members agree to implement key recommendations in order to meet Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center standards. The purpose of the Collaborative is to enhance educational opportunities for member hospitals’ clinicians, enhance quality and patient-centered care, offer opportunities to consult with medical specialists at Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center in Boston, and provide expedited access to Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center for patients with complex cancers. Collaborative Members have access to a variety of services customizable to their specific needs, such as virtual consults and second opinions, physician tumor boards and case conferences, physician trainings and observerships, the Direct Connect patient concierge service if a patient requires care in Boston, and various other educational and programmatic services supporting physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and radiation therapy staff.
