Overview
It’s not easy to quit smoking, but it’s worth it. If you’re ready, we can help you get the resources you need.
Medical Therapies
- Over-the-Counter (OTC) Nicotine Replacements — OTC products containing some nicotine help curb nicotine cravings and the symptoms associated with withdrawal that can occur the first few weeks of cessation. Examples include nicotine gum, nicotine patch, nicotine lozenge, nicotine nasal spray or lollipop or e-cigarettes.
- Non-Nicotine Prescription Medication — There are non-nicotine prescription medications that can help you stop smoking. They can be in pill or inhaler formats. They must be prescribed by a physician and may be covered by insurance.
- Alternative Therapy — Non-conventional methods such as hypnosis and acupuncture have been proven to help people stop smoking.
