Dr Belany cares how I am doing; he asks about future plans; he goes to bat for me with the insurance company; he thoroughly explains treatment plans and options

I haven't yet connected to this Dr like I have my others. The visits are usually short and focused and I don't know that he really knows me (or has attempted to get to know me). But being as busy as they seem to be that may be what is needed.

I find Dr. Belany to be a very caring and kind doctor. He has a very easygoing, relaxed manner that I think could make anyone feel comfortable. I saw him originally for a very specific problem, to see if issues with my parathyroid might be contributing to my tendency to form kidney stones. That doesn't seem to be the cause, but he has been very helpful with ordering all the appropriate tests and answering my questions. He also gave some attention to a couple of other medical issues that I have had, that fall within his realm. He looked at the testing related to my hemi-thyroidectomy and multi-nodular goiter. He gave me a careful analysis regarding the need for followup in relation to what he was seeing. He was very specific and careful in his analysis, but also reassuring. It helped to have the need for follow-up in that area clarified.I also had a couple of very low-pre-diabetic glucose readings last year. Those have resolved, partly because of a dietary change I made, but he offered me some helpful thoughts/ideas about that also. I asked him what he would recommend that I do, and he recommended weight loss to securely control any tendencies I might have in the pre-diabetic direction.
