Michael P. Palmer, MD is a fellowship-trained, board certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in orthopedic sports medicine. He specializes in arthroscopic procedures of the shoulder, hip, and knee, as well as joint replacement surgery. Dr. Palmer earned his medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine. He then completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Allegheny General Hospital. Upon graduation, Dr. Palmer entered active duty military service with the United States Air Force serving as a staff orthopedic surgeon at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio from 2014-2017. After fulfilling his military commitment, he completed the Orthopedic Sports Medicine fellowship at Cincinnati Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center.
Dr. Palmer is a fellow of American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, an emerging leader of American Orthopedic Association, member of International Society for Hip Arthroscopy, member of Arthroscopy Association of North America, member of American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, member of Society of Military Orthopedic Surgeons, Herodicus Society traveling fellow, and teaching faculty at Cincinnati Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center, Orthopedic Sports Medicine Fellowship Program. Dr. Palmer has specific research interests including: biomechanical stability of the knee, cost effective medicine, infection prevention, and clinical outcomes research in the shoulder, hip, and knee.
Outside of treating patients, Dr. Palmer enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, golfing, and training for half-marathons.
