Parker Gillespie, PA-C, is a board-certified Physician Assistant with The Christ Hospital Physicians – Heart & Vascular, who provides inpatient and outpatient care for heart transplant patients at The Christ Hospital in Mt. Auburn. He has extensive experience providing complex care in a cardiovascular intensive care setting.
He is a veteran who was inspired to pursue a career in medicine during his deployment as a medic in Afghanistan. “Working with a forward surgical unit during this time led me to fall in love with the opportunity to offer medical care to people when they need it most,” Parker says.
Parker places the patient at the center of his approach to care, and he believes it is the role of the medical care team to help patients understand all of their options so they can help to determine the best care plan for themselves. He encourages his patients to stay engaged in their care and to always be willing to ask questions or provide their input.
He earned an Associate’s Degree in Nursing from The Christ College of Nursing and Health Science, and a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science as a Physician Assistant from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He also graduated from the U.S. military’s Interservice Physician Assistant Program. He is certified by the National Board on Certification of Physician Assistants.
In his free time, Parker values spending time with his wife and three children. He also enjoys traveling, hiking, camping, and all things sports. He is an avid Bengals and Reds fan.
