Shannon K. Weinstein, MSN, APRN-CNP, is a certified nurse practitioner specializing in behavioral health with The Christ Hospital Health Network in Cincinnati, Ohio. She cares for patients in the Intensive Outpatient Program and the Partial Hospitalization Program.
Shannon says choosing a career in nursing is one of the best decisions she ever made. She enjoys the science and new discoveries – and being able to directly help people when they need it most.
“I approach my patients with unconditional positive regard, respect and empathy,” Shannon says. “They know themselves and need to be heard. Good communication between you and your care team is key to reaching your health goals.”
Shannon earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from the University of Cincinnati College of Nursing. She is certified as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner by the American Nursing Credentialing Center.
She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing (Beta Iota Chapter), the American Psychiatric Nurses Association, the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and the Ohio Association of Advanced Practice Nurses.
Outside of medicine, Shannon enjoys trying out new hobbies and making things, especially sewing and upcycling clothes. She also enjoys travel, dancing, Pilates, a good mystery novel, and anything that makes her laugh.
