Jacob Stephens, MD, is a surgeon who specializes in urology with The Christ Hospital Physicians – Urology. He sees patients at the Green Township location and the Mt. Auburn Medical Office Building.
Dr. Stephens was inspired to pursue a career in medicine because of a desire to help other people, and by a respect for the care provided by his family doctor. He chose urology because of an interest in improving men’s health. He has extensive training to provide care for a wide range of urologic issues. “My aim is to be a ‘one-stop urologist’ that can treat any patient who walks in the door,” he says.
His approach to patient care is objective and evidenced-based and involves including them in making important decisions about their care options. He strives to provide a welcoming environment where his patients can feel comfortable discussing issues that may be sensitive and he urges them to be open and honest.
Dr. Stephens earned a Bachelor of Science in Natural Science from Xavier University and his Doctor of Medicine Degree from The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He completed an internship in general surgery and a residency in urology at William Beaumont Hospital-Royal Oak in Royal Oak, MI. He is a member of the American Urological Association.
When not practicing medicine, Dr. Stephens enjoys spending time with his family, watching and playing sports, hiking, music, and exercise.
