Cheyenne Brown, MS, CNM, MPH, is a Board-Certified Nurse Midwife with The Christ Hospital Physicians – Obstetrics & Gynecology who provides inpatient and outpatient care to women of all ages.
Cheyenne was already in nursing school when she was inspired to pursue a career as a nurse midwife. “I sat in on a panel of nurse practitioners, one of whom was a nurse midwife. When I listened to her speak, I thought, ‘That’s it! That’s what I want to do,“ she says. Since that decision, she has delivered more than 2,000 babies and she says her greatest accomplishment as a provider is the large number of families who have become “repeat clients.” “I’ve ‘caught’ four or five of some of their babies,” she says.
She believes that each person is the center and decision maker of their own care, and she feels strongly that they personalized approach to midwife care allows for that. “I start most office visits with the question, ‘what do you want to talk about?” Cheyenne says. “That way the patient gets to lead the discussion and their questions or concerns are heard first.”
Cheyenne earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati, and a Master of Science in both Public Health and Nursing as a Certified Nurse Midwife from The Ohio State University. She is certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board and is a member of the American College of Nurse Midwives.
Cheyenne is a native Cincinnatian who values the support of her husband, with whom she has raised two (almost) grown children and taken care of some “very needy doggos.” In her free time, she enjoys listening to audiobooks and podcasts and walking and exploring neighborhoods with her husband.
