Dr. Allen is board certified as an American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology Fellow. His medical licensure includes Ohio, Kentucky, and National Board of Medical Examiners credentials. Through his private practice and academic appointments, Dr. Allen has over 30 years of combined experience and expertise in all facets of obstetrics and gynecology.
Dr. Allen is an honors graduate of Case Western University and the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He served as Chief Resident during his Obstetrics and Gynecology residency while training at the University of Cincinnati.
In addition to his private practice, Dr. Allen currently serves as Director of Gynecology at Cincinnati Veterans Administration Hospital. Dr. Allen also serves as Voluntary Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Voluntary Assistant Professor of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Cincinnati. In this capacity, Dr. Allen helps guide and train medical resident physicians and medical and nursing students in obstetrics and gynecology. He has a passion for education and has received the Alpha Omega Alpha Teaching Award from the University of Cincinnati Medical School.
A lifelong Cincinnati resident, Dr. Allen enjoys following local college sports. He is also an avid Bengals fan, and not just during fair weather! Most of all, Dr. Allen and his wife enjoy spending time with family, including a growing number of grandchildren.

Once we spoke with the doctor in his office, he was seemingly distracted and finishing work on his computer. Then read my chart and notes to the medical student some medical information about my pregnancy, but never looked or spoke directly to me. Then he was very brief, only answering in 1-2 sentences questions we asked.
I have gone to Dr. Allen since he began his practice. You couldn't ask for a better OB/GYN. He has such a good personality and he is very caring. Excellent physician. I can't recommend him enough.
[...] I've never met him before, he didn't introduce himself to me. I understand that he is not one of my regular OB's but, the courtesy would've been nice. I was also a add on to his schedule. When he came in to let me know how everything looked he said "looks good, you're good to go". No explanation as to why I would feel decreased movement.. No reassurance at all. I'm a new mom so it would've been nice to have some explanation. I asked if I should be concerned about anything else, he said no and told me I could/should cancel my upcoming appointment for [...]. I'll be keeping my regular appointment so I can get the reassurance I was looking for.
