The Christ Hospital Physicians - Primary Care
Eric Roose, MD is a physician with The Christ Hospital Physicians – Primary Care who specializes in Family Medicine. He provides care for patients of all ages at the Mason location.
Dr. Roose was inspired to pursue a career in medicine by his family doctor, Dr. Hackenburg. “He showed me that doctors don’t have to be intimidating,” he says. “They can be compassionate, approachable, and reassuring while providing excellent care.”
His approach to care reflects that inspiration with a focus on making patients feel heard, comfortable, and confident in care that is provided in a welcoming, judgement-free environment. “I place strong value on collaboration and shared decision-making,” he says. “My training and experience allow me to provide thoughtful, evidence-based recommendations while considering each patient’s individual needs, values, and goals.”
Dr. Roose encourages his patients to embrace open communications and feel confident when asking questions so they can fully understand their options and feel comfortable with choices about their care. He also reminds them of the impact that small and sustainable but consistent choices can have on long-term health. “Focus on building habits that support overall well-being; eating nutritious foods, staying active, getting enough sleep, managing stress, and keeping up with preventive care,” he says.
He earned a Bachelor of Science from The Ohio State University, a Master of Science in Biomedical Science and a Master of Public Health from the University of Toledo, and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences. He completed a residency in family medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center. He is a member of the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Dr. Roose has a deep appreciation for nature that was inspired by his grandparents’ orchard. In his free time, he loves gardening, especially growing vegetables and fruit trees. He is also a lifelong dog lover. “They bring so much joy and companionship,” he says. “I appreciate the way they help us slow down, stay present, and navigate the stresses of everyday life.”
