Gina G. Chung, MD

Dr. Chung immigrated from Korea at the age of 5 and was raised in New England. She graduated from MIT with a major in Biology and a minor in Literature, then attended Stanford University for medical school. She returned to Connecticut for her Internal Medicine residency, chief residency, and Hematology/Oncology fellowship at Yale University.

Following her training, Dr. Chung joined the faculty at Yale in 2001. During her tenure, she oversaw the care of patients with cancer, taught students, residents, and fellows, and was active in clinical and translational research. She served as principal investigator or sub-investigator on dozens of trials, successfully obtained internal and external funding to advance oncologic care, and published in numerous peer-reviewed journals. She also served on multiple Breast Cancer Disease Unit committees, including running tumor boards and the clinical practice program.

Dr. Chung sees patients with all types of malignancies, with a special interest in breast cancer.
