Jonathon Whitmore, CNP, is a certified nurse practitioner with The Christ Hospital Physicians Heart & Vascular who specializes in outpatient care of patients who undergo cardiothoracic surgery. He sees patients at The Christ Hospital Medical Office Building in Mt. Auburn.
Jonathon received significant insight and guidance on the medical profession from his twin uncles who are both physicians, and this inspired him to pursue a career in medicine. He approaches care with a patient-first philosophy supported by the understanding that every patient has unique circumstances and goals to help in establishing individual care plans. We are treating the patient, not just a diagnosis, he says. Sometimes their needs extend beyond traditional medicine. I am here to help in any capacity that I can.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Marshall University, an Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati, and a Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Cincinnati. He is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
In his free time, Jonathon values spending time with his wife and their adopted twin daughters. He and his family enjoy traveling and have a goal to attend a baseball game in every major league stadium. He also enjoys cooking and trying new recipes at home.
