Joseph E. Baus, MD

Joseph Baus, MD is a board-certified physician with The Christ Hospital Physician – Heart & Vascular Institute who specializes in critical care medicine. He provides inpatient care at the cardiovascular intensive care unit at The Christ Hospital in Mt. Auburn.

He was drawn to a career in medicine by the opportunity to step in, take responsibility, and help those who may feel helpless when it mattered most. “Medicine gave me a chance to gain the knowledge and skills needed to make a meaningful difference,” Dr. Baus says. “With every patient that I see in the ICU, I always know that there’s something big or small that I can do to improve their care.”

Dr. Baus earned a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry from Virginia Tech and a Medical Degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine & Public Health. He completed his residency in anesthesiology at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, and a fellowship in critical care medicine at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He is certified in anesthesiology and critical care medicine by the American Board of Anesthesiology.

Dr. Baus is excited to be back in Cincinnati, where he completed a good portion of his training. In his free time, he enjoys sailing and spending Saturdays at Findlay Market.
