Katie A. Bender, CNP

Katie Bender, MSN, FNP-C is a certified family nurse practitioner with The Christ Hospital Physicians who specializes in Urology and provides inpatient care at The Christ Hospital in Mt. Auburn.

She chose a career in medicine because of the opportunity to constantly learn and grow while helping others become the healthiest version of themselves. After years of providing bedside care as a registered nurse, she followed that passion for growth and knowledge by pursuing the opportunity to go more in depth in providing patient care for their conditions by becoming a nurse practitioner.

Katie believes in taking a holistic approach to providing care. “A medication or procedure can only go so far if a patient does not have tools or knowledge outside of a doctor’s office to manage their health conditions,” she says. “I believe in meeting patients where they are and working in tandem with them to find the best solutions to their health problems.”

She encourages her patients to always be their own greatest advocate when it comes to their health and to be sure to have all available information to help them make informed decisions. “There is no such thing as a dumb question,” she says.

Katie earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Malone University and a Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Ohio University. She is certified by The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and she is a member of The American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society.

In her free time, Katie enjoys reading, gardening, photography, and spending time outdoors. She also enjoys visiting local coffee spots and spending time with her husband and their dog.
