Dr. Kera Walter grew up in Oldham County, Kentucky. She earned an undergraduate degree from Campbellsville University, followed by a master's degree in physiology and biophysics from the University of Louisville. She then received her medical degree from the University of Pikeville before completing a family medicine residency at St. Elizabeth in Edgewood, Kentucky.
After losing an aunt to metastatic breast cancer, Dr. Walter realized her calling to help not only patients facing similar diagnoses, but their families as well. "I enjoy working with patients as a team — not only to treat their condition, but also to educate and empower them."
When she is not at work, Dr. Walter enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, baking, hiking, boating, and traveling.

Dr. Walter is genuinely the best doctor I have ever been to. I have never felt so heard and respected until working with her. She never feels rushed when seeing me and she always asks about my entire care- mental health included. She is so warm and empathetic, and I genuinely trust her so much. I drive about 45 mins just to continue to have her as my GP.
