Scoliosis
Scoliosis causes the spine to curve sideways into “C” or “S” shape. It can affect children and adults. In adults, it’s most often caused by age-related disc degeneration. The thoracic (mid-back) spine is the most commonly affected area.
Causes of scoliosis include arthritis, osteoporosis and degenerative disc disease.
Symptoms
Symptoms of scoliosis may include:
- Low back pain
- Numbness
- Poor posture
- Shooting leg pain
- Stiffness
