Arthritis

Symptoms include inflammation, pain, stiffness, limited movement, loss of range of motion, swelling and warmth in your hand or wrist.

Carpal tunnel syndrome

Symptoms include a feeling of "pins and needles," burning/tingling, weakness, numbness, interrupted sleep and swelling.

Cubital tunnel syndrome

Symptoms include aching, clumsiness, pain in your fingers, numbness, tingling when your elbow is bent and a weak grip.

Dislocation, fracture and sprain

Symptoms include bruising, deformity, pain, inability to use your hand or wrist, numbness, redness, swelling and weakness.

Ganglion cyst

Symptoms include aching, pain in your wrist or fingers, loss of function, swelling, weakness and a cyst or bump.

Laceration

Signs of infection include fever, foul odor, pain, pus or discharge, redness, swelling and warmth.

Tendon or nerve injury

Symptoms include burning, limited range of motion, numbness, pain, loss of movement, twitching and weakness.

Tendonitis and bursitis

Tendonitis symptoms may include a grating feeling, pain and swelling. Bursitis symptoms may include pain in the wrist or hand and a small lump or swelling.

Trigger finger

Symptoms may include difficulty flexing, inability to extend fingers or thumbs, involuntary locking and pain.
